Trivia: Kareena Kapoor is the fourth generation of the legendary Kapoor family who has been in the film industry for the last 50 years. Kareena is popularly known by her nickname ‘Bebo’. Biography: Born on 21st September, 1980, in an iconic family which has given the country few of its best actors and actresses, Kareena Kapoor is the daughter of Randhir Kapoor and Babita. Her elder sister, Karisma Kapoor is also an actress. Kareena Kapoor made her debut with Refugee (2000). Although the film didn’t do so well at the box office, it was enough for Kareena Kapoor to leave her mark as a girl with potential. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) which became the highest overseas grosser of that year gave her recognition and success as an actress. However her other films, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Yaadein, Ajnabee and Asoka, released in the same year gained mediocre success

Her career received a setback in 2002 and 2003, all her movies, Mujhse Dosti Karoge!, Jeena Sirf Merre Liye, Talaash: The Hunt Begins…, Khushi, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, LOC Kargil, were quite unsuccessful at the box-office. Her movies released in 2004 and 2005, Chameli, Yuva, Fida, Aitraaz, Dev, Hulchal, Bewafaa, Dosti: Friends Forever received a lukewarm response at the box-office. However, her roles in Chameli and Dev were critically acclaimed. In 2006, she starred in 36 China Town, Chup Chup Ke, Omkara and did a cameo appearance in Don – The Chase Begins Again. Her portrayal of Dolly (based on Desdemona, from the Shakespearean play, Othello) received rave critical reviews.

The release of Jab We Met (2007) brought with it huge success and fan following. She delivered the role of a free spirited, fiery sikhni with gusto. Tashan, released in 2008, was a flop. Another release of 2008, Roadside Romeo, an animated movie from Yash Raj and Walt Disney Pictures had her lending her voice to the character of Laila. Kambakkht Ishq and Main Aurr Mrs Khanna both 2009 releases did not do so well, however Kurbaan and 3 Idiots which also released in the same year gained her nominations for Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She then appeared in the much stalled Milenge Milenge (2010). Karan Johar’s We Are Family (2010), a Hindi adaptation of Hollywood’s Stepmom (1998) saw her playing the role originally portrayed by the talented, Julia Roberts. The role won her the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. She has been a part of the Golmaal series and has played a role in Golmaal Returns (2008) and was the leading lady in Golmaal 3 (2010).

 In 2011, she was first seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Ra.One and later opposite Salman Khan in Bodyguard. Both these films did huge business at the box-office. In 2012, she was seen opposite Imran Khan in Karan Johar’s Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu which also did well at the box-office. Her upcoming films include Agent Vinod with beau Saif Ali Khan, Talaash with Aamir Khan and Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine.

In 2010, she was seen in Chance Pe Dance but the film failed to do well at the box-office. Her 2011 release was Force opposite John Abraham and it was a hit. Trivia: An already established actress in Telugu films down south, and a newbie in the Hindi film industry, Ileana D’Cruz is the latest addition to the “To-Watch-Out-For” list of new entrants in Bollywood. The model-turned-actress will make her Bolly debut in Anurag Basu’s film “Barfi!”
Biography: A simple girl born in Mumbai and brought up for some years in Goa, Ileana D’Cruz is the second of four children of parents Ronaldo and Samira. She has an elder sister named Farrah, a younger brother named Rhys and a younger sister named Eileen.
While she was in Goa, a hotel manager coaxed her into taking up modeling as a career and even introduced her to model-actor-ramp choreographer Marc Robinson. Ileana regards her first portfolio as a disaster, yet she landed into ramp shows and photo shoots. Gradually, thanks to her second portfolio, she grabbed ads for established brands like Emami Talc, Electrolux and Fair & Lovely. The latter ad was directed by Rakesh Roshan, thus opening up vistas for her for acting in films.
Ileana debuted in 2006 in a Telugu romantic film named ‘Devadasu’, for which she took acting lessons from Aruna Bhikshu. Her performance in the film was much appreciated and she was also noticed for amazing figure and sexy legs. The film grossed around 14 crores and the heroine received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut (Telugu).
Her next film, Pokiri, opposite Mahesh Babu, was also a smash hit success and became the highest grossing Telugu film at that time. However, after this film, her career graph experienced a low, with four subsequent films being commercial failures. Things took a better turn for her, with films like ‘Aata’ and ‘Jalsa’ doing pretty well at the box office. The latter not only brought in some good money, but also earned her prestigious awards and nominations for her performance.
Prior to her failures with ‘Rechipo’ and ‘Saleem’ in 2009, she starred in ‘Kick’, which became among the highest grossing films of the year. The actress again collaborated with her ‘Pokiri’ director Puri Jagannadh, and appeared in his film ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’, in which her acting and looks were much praised.
Ileana’s second Tamil film ‘Nanban’ was a remake of 3 Idiots, and she played the role performed by Kareena Kapoor. Much like its Bollywood counterpart, the Tamil version also became quite successful both commercially and critically. As of now, the actress is awaiting the release of her first Hindi film, Barfi!, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. She plays the role of a narrator and Ranbir’s first love interest in the film.
The ‘Miss Sexy Legs’ will also be seen in Puri Jagannadh’s next venture ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’ where the heroine will be essaying the character of a taxi driver. Her second Bolly film ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’ will be a romantic comedy, starring Shahid Kapoor, and is expected to release in 2013.

Biography: The dusky beauty is one of the talented actress Bollywood has today. Chitrangada launched in the industry with Sudhir Mishra’s social and political drama, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (2003). Her performance as the protected yet unsettled Geeta Rao won her admiring reviews and several debut awards of the year in the Promising Female category. Originally a model from Delhi, Chitrangada worked in several advertisement campaigns and music videos before plunging into Bollywood. Often called Sudhir Mishra’s muse, Shekhar Kappor appreciated Chitrangada for having “outdone Smita Patil”. She worked in 2005’s Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow, following which she took a short break. She reappeared with Onir’s Sorry Bhai (2008) starring alongside Sanjay Suri and Sharman Joshi. The film failed to create any ripples. But she bounced back with Sudhir Mishra’s Yeh Saali Zindagi and the commercially successful Desi Boyz in 2011.
